Time to get focused

So Merry X-mas to all, and a Happy New Year to come. It's always right around this time every year that I start to assess my fitness and think about how the coming season will play out compared to the last season. I know the changes that need to be made to have a successful year, now it's time to implement them(always harder to do than to talk about!!!). My swim has improved to where I can be competitive, now I need to work on my bike and run to get them up to par. It seems odd that when I got into this sport it was my bike and run that were strong and my swim was terrible. Oh well, it goes to show that working on your weaknesses can make them a strength, but I also need to make sure I am balancing all 3 sports appropriately. This year should be an exciting year, lots of good racing to come, my wedding to my beautiful supportive fiancee in July, and then IMC going for Kona Q in August. Busy but exciting days ahead. New Years resolution number 1: Cut out useless fuel a.k.a junk food in 09. I figure I have been carrying too much weight due to poor diet choices over the last few years and my goal is to cut this out completely. We'll see how it pans out. To help myself do this I have started a food log and looking at this over the last few weeks has been an eye opener(not that it's the best time to do this around X-mas). I'm going to make an appointment with Noa @ PT Performance to discuss nutrition, and like anytime I meet with Noa, I plan on learning lots of new things. Anyhow, best wishes for a Happy New Years, and I look forward to racing and training with you all in 2010.

Cheers.
